Welcome to the blog of Kankakee Valley Christian Day Care! I have created this blog for two reasons. First, I want to post pictures, submit reminders and celebrate accomplishments with our families. Secondly, I want to give families who are interested in us an opportunity to experience our day care ministry and become familiar with us in the comfort their own homes. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me by email at mistihiatt@yahoo.com or by calling 574-772-2277.
Enjoy!

What are the hours of the school day?
Kankakee Valley Christian Day Care is available to operate between the hours of 5:30 am and 5:30 pm. Hours may vary, so please inquire about the specific hours of your schedule.
What ages of children do you accept?
KVCDC accepts children as young as six months up to six years. Our Before and After School Program is designed for children in Kindergarten up to Fifth grade.
What is the teacher-to-child ratio?
Ratios vary by classroom and state. KVCDC follows state ratio recommendations.
Do children receive a report card?
We consistently communicate with parents regarding their children’s development. We provide parents with a semi-annual progress report called an Individual Learning Objectives Summary; however, teachers are available every day to answer questions.
Does KVCDC provide meals and snacks?
Yes, we provide a wholesome breakfast and two nutritious snacks. We ask that parents pack a sack lunch each day.
What if my child is allergic to certain types of foods?
We require that parents alert us to allergies for inclusion in the child’s medical file. Based on the prohibited foods, an allergy plan is created and the child’s teachers are alerted. When a food on a child’s prohibited list is served, the child receives a substitution.
Do the children go on any field trips?
Yes, we occasionally take certain classes outside of KVCDC to enrich the learning experience. All field trip destinations are appropriate for small children. And we follow very strict procedures to ensure safety and security while your child’s class is out of the building.
Do you require parents to volunteer their time at school?
Parents are not required to volunteer at their school, but we do encourage parental involvement at the convenience of the parents.
What is the tuition and how is it paid?
Tuition varies by location and classroom. Tuition is due every Monday for that week. KVCDC accepts personal checks and most credit cards. We also accept the state voucher program.
